William (Billy) Barry, CFP®, CIMA®, MBA
Lead Advisor/ CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ professional
I am a Lead Advisor/CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ PROFESSIONAL at Kellman Barnes Financial Planning, where I have the opportunity to build financial plans for our clients. My primary responsibilities include trading client accounts, working directly with clients to address their financial planning questions and preparing for and participating in meetings with clients to deliver financial planning recommendations.
With over 7 years in the financial services industry, my career began at Goldman Sachs, where I gained valuable experience that I now bring to my role at Kellman Barnes. I hold an MBA in Financial Planning from DeSales University, which I obtained in 2022. I completed my undergraduate work locally at Siena College where I obtained a B.S. in Management with a concentration in Human Resources, a minor in psychology, and a certificate in Community Consulting. I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2023. I also earned my Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) Certification in April of 2025 after completing the education requirements through Yale & passing the certification exam. My passion for educating and helping people make the best decisions for themselves and their loved ones drives me forward. I consider it a privilege to be a steward of people's investments and strive to do my utmost for them.
What I enjoy most about my job is connecting with people and helping our partners and clients navigate both the technical aspects of financial planning and determining what works best for them. I believe that the greatest value I can provide is meeting people where they are, whether they want to get straight to the point or dive deep into the numbers.
Originally from New City, New York, my wife Kirsten and I live in Guilderland with our daughter. In my free time, sports have always been a significant part of my life. I played football, ran track, and cross country in high school, and have fond memories of attending New York Giants and Yankee games with my family. When I'm not playing or watching sports, I enjoy hiking or reading, and I almost always spend my time with friends or family.
